Speech-Language Pathology

NRH offers a comprehensive range of outpatient speech-language pathology services for individuals from preschool age through geriatrics.

Services Offered

Evaluation and treatment services are available for:

Neurological Conditions:
  • Stroke
  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
  • Neuromuscular speech disorders resulting from Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and other conditions
  • Geriatric-related conditions (patient/family education and counseling for Alzheimer’s Disease, dementia)


  • Pediatric Populations:
  • Articulation disorders
  • Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (Tongue Thrust)


  • Other Speech-Language Pathology Services:
  • Accent Modification
  • Voice disorders
  • Swallowing disorders
  • Post concussive syndrome
  • Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome (CFIDS)
  • Augmentative/Alternative Communication (AAC)
  • Computer-assisted instruction
  • NRH offers individual, group and day treatment therapy services with flexible scheduling.

    Staff and Facilities

    Our staff hold the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s (ASHA’s) certificate of clinical competence (CCC-SLP) and are licensed by the state(s) in which they provide services. All Speech-Language Pathology staff participate in continuing education in order to ensure state-of-the-art knowledge, skills and abilities.

    Financial Arrangements

    NRH Regional Rehab participates in Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Medicare and is approved by most major insurance carriers and health maintenance organizations. A case manager or office manager will discuss your insurance with you at the time of the referral.

Referrals for speech-language pathology outpatient services may be made by physicians, community agencies, insurance companies, health care professionals, individual consumers, or family members. A physician’s written prescription is required for reimbursement by most third party payers.
