NRH Regional Rehab offers state-of-the-art evaluation and treatment of neck and back pain. The goal of our Spine Program is to arrrive at as specific a diagnosis as possible, and formulate the most effective treatment plan. The program is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of experienced clinicians led by a fellowship-trained spine specialist.

Causes of back and neck pain that may be effectively treated include:

• disk herniation
• stenosis
• spondylolisthesis
• facet joint syndrome
• sacro-iliac joint syndrome

Tailored Treatment Plan

At NRH Regional Rehab, treatment is tailored to the particular diagnosis and the individual patient, and usually includes a combination of medications and physical therapy. The goal is to reduce or eliminate pain and restore the patient to maximal function, so that he or she can resume full vocational and recreational activities.

One of the tools available to assist the physician in making a specific diagnosis and providing state-of-the-art treatment is fluoroscopically guided spinal injection. New technology allows the physician to target specific structures of the spine and inject medication with great accuracy. This technique allows precise determination of the “pain generator” causing the patient’s symptoms. It also makes possible the direct treatment of the pain-producing process, which significantly accelerates recovery when combined with physical therapy.

With a comprehensive, diagnosis-specific treatment program, surgery is often unnecessary. However, for those patients who will require surgery, this approach provides the patient and surgeon the best chance of excellent results. Our physical and occupational therapists work closely with area physicians to provide effective care to the patients referred to us.

Our greatest asset is our excellent staff. Our highly trained physicians are board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Our in-house team of physicians, physical and occupational therapists, and psychologists are experts in evaluating and treating patients with an individualized, practical course of intervention that has been demonstrated to be clinically effective and efficient.

The success of any organizational approach depends on communication between participating parties. We maintain a system of constant communication among all of the players on the rehabilitation team, including patients, physicians, case managers, employers and insurance companies.

Financial Arrangements

NRH Regional Rehab participates in Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Medicare and is approved by most major insurance carriers and health maintenance organizations. A case manager or office manager will discuss your insurance with you at the time of referral.
