NRH offers inpatient rehabilitation services for individuals who have had amputation, hip-fracture surgery, joint replacement, arthritis, cancer surgery, multiple orthopedic traumas, and other musculoskeletal conditions. Services are managed by board-certified specialists in physical medicine and rehabilitation, orthopedic surgery, internal medicine, and Rheumatology.
Among the program's specialized offerings are pre-amputation consultation with the surgeon, onsite manufacture and fitting of prostheses and orthoses, skin care, hydrotherapy, pain management, and work related services. In addition to being recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of "America's Best Hospitals" for medical rehabilitation since 1994, NRH has also been listed among the top hospitals in Rheumatology.
Depending on the patient's needs and goals, rehabilitation team members may also include specialists in occupational therapy, orthotics and prosthetics, physical therapy, psychology, rehabilitation engineering, rehabilitation nursing, social work, therapeutic recreation, and vocational rehabilitation.
