Receiving a hospital record 14 “exemplary conformance” commendations, NRH was awarded a full three-year accreditation by both the Joint Commission and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
On Tuesday, July 17, surveyors representing CARF and the Joint Commission arrived at NRH to assess “day-to-day” hospital services, programs and general facilities operations.
NRH excelled in this process of evaluation that is based on “standards [that] are rigorous, so those services that meet them are among the best available,” according to CARF.
In addition to the hospital's inpatient program, both the Spinal Cord Model System of Care and Stroke Rehabilitation programs were awarded, making NRH one of only two facilities in the Baltimore-Washington region to receive this highest level of accreditation.
