On August 28, NRH was prominently featured in the news across the country with ABC News' coverage of Senator Tim Johnson’s (D-SD) homecoming.
Over the course of several months, ABC news anchor and 2006 Victory Award® honoree Bob Woodruff has followed Senator Johnson as a patient at NRH as he recovered from a December 2006 hemorrhage of an arteriovenous malformation.
The Senator’s dramatic progress was shown in his physical and speech-therapy sessions with members of our clinical staff.
His neurologist, Dr. Michael Yochelson and Dr. Paul Rao, Vice President, Clinical Services, were both interviewed with regard to the Senator’s excellent prognosis for returning to his work in the Senate in the coming weeks.
Stories appeared nationally on ABC's Nightline and Good Morning America as well as on the Washington, DC ABC affiliate WJLA.
