New approaches to care, clinical research advances, and the increasing focus on assistive technology are continually expanding the knowledge base required for rehab workers. To address these issues, NRH has made a commitment to education and training of current and future rehabilitation professionals.
Over the years, NRH has offered thousands of in-service and continuing education programs to physicians, rehabilitation nurses, and other clinicians from the Hospital, the Washington metropolitan area, and across the nation. The Hospital has also opened its doors to people preparing for careers in rehabilitation, offering a venue for internships, clinical rotations, and fellowships for students at all levels.
Our successful Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Training Program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. The program prepares residents for both clinical and academic practice and is affiliated with the Georgetown University School of Medicine, the Washington Hospital Center, Children's National Medical Center, the National Institutes of Health Rehabilitation Medicine Department, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, and the Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC).
