NRH Stroke Recovery Program: Regaining Life After Stroke

This video highlights National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH)’s Stroke Recovery Program, and the efforts taken to ensure that patients return to their lives after stroke. Dr. Brendan Conroy is the Medical Director of the Stroke Recovery Program at NRH. He is one of the many dedicated members of the Stroke Recovery Program Team who want to help patients recover.

NRH has maintained accreditation with the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). The Stroke Recovery Program Team works with the patient’s families to ensure they are involved in the recovery process. NRH strives to make a difference in the lives of every patient who arrives at the Hospital. Dr. Sandeep Simlote explains, “This is where they’re going to heal from their disability but also learn about it, and then grow from there”.

NRH is extremely proud to say that 96 percent of stroke patients go home within three months. The doctors and staff of the stroke unit continue everyday to work towards the NRH credo of Adding Life to Years ®.
