   Pamela Ballard, MD     


Pamela Ballard, MD, is a board certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialist.  She is the Clinical Director of the Spinal Cord Injury Program and chair, Credentials and Professional Standards Committee at NRH. As director of the Spasticity Clinic, she has expertise in spasticity management including pharamacologic management, botulinum injections and baclofen pump. She is Co-Director of the Male SCI Fertility Program and has special interests in neuromuscular, musculoskeletal and trauma rehabilitation.

She is a fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, a diplomate of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and certified by the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Medicine.

Before coming to NRH she was Director, Inpatient Rehabilitation Consultation Service at the Washington Hospital Center and medical consultant to the Outpatient Head Injury Program at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. She is a graduate of the Howard University, School of Medicine and completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Sinai Hospital/Johns Hopkins Hospital. She completed her undergraduate studies at Howard University, graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in physical therapy. She worked as a registered physical therapist prior to her medical career.
